Here is born the red wine Cyan Pago de la Calera 2016, crafted from a privileged vineyard, cultivated with tinta de Toro vines that are nearly a century old. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, it is a wine that is only produced in truly exceptional vintages, due to the high standards set by Carlos Moro.
The Pago de la Calera, located in the municipality of Toro itself, is notable for its sandy-loam character, ideal for the perfect expression of the native grape variety tinta de Toro.
Visually, Cyan Pago de la Calera displays a deep, intense cardinal color. On the nose, it is direct, with excellent concentration and complexity, offering varietal aromas of ripe black fruit, such as blackberry and bramble, with balsamic hints of aromatic herbs, alongside aromas of new leather, blond tobacco, and soft cocoa. The palate is structured with well-rounded, polished, and silky sweet tannins. Black fruit like myrtle or blueberry, along with tobacco, leather, licorice, and subtle roasted notes, lead to a long, elegant, and very persistent finish.
