EMINA ATIO 2019 SIGNATURE WINE - AN ANCIENT EXPRESSION IN A SIGNATURE WINE

A very limited-production red wine from the upper Duero Valley, specifically from the prestigious Valbuena de Duero. It is made exclusively with the finest Tempranillo grapes from the El Horno estate, and only in years of exceptional yield. Its aging potential is also remarkable, ensuring it continues to impress over time.

A signature wine that pays homage to the winemaking history of the Ribera del Duero region.

Emina Atio is a highly expressive wine, aged for 18 months in the finest French Allier oak barrels. It is then further refined in the bottle for another 18 months. The wine's power, elegance, and longevity are evident in the primary aromas of very ripe black fruit. Its main characteristic is the structure imparted by the origin of the grapes, which come from calcareous soils poor in organic matter. Emina Atio possesses a unique and distinctive character, as it bears the name of the legendary warrior Atio, a member of the council of elders of the Vaccaei tribe who fought against the Roman Empire and who cultivated vines just a few kilometers from Bodega Emina Ribera for over 2,000 years.

It comes from the vineyards of Pago de El Horno, in Valbuena de Duero, a very calcareous plot at a high altitude with excellent sun exposure, located on a semi-high plateau in the Duero Valley, facing south, in an area of terraces alongside the remains of ancient, millennia-old vineyards.

Visual: A clean and bright color is visible with very dark cardinal tones.

Nose: Despite its extended aging in new oak barrels, the primary aromas are perfectly integrated with tertiary notes of spice, toast, cocoa, tobacco, soft toast, and cedar. Its expressive nose stands out with excellent complexity. A powerful, elegant, and intense wine.

Palate This wine has character. Its power, elegance, and longevity are evident in the intense primary aromas of very ripe black fruit. It is a rich and luscious wine that lingers on both the initial taste and the finish.
